Modern Dental Technology

We use modern dental technology to help Dr. Barry evaluate your oral health and plan your treatment. Our treatment rooms have large screens where we can display your X-rays, 3D images, and digital scans during your visit. This gives us the opportunity to review our findings together, answer your questions, and help you understand your dental health and treatment options.

CEREC Same-Day Crowns

When a tooth needs a crown, our CEREC system allows us to design and mill certain crowns right here in the office. For many suitable cases, the crown can be made and placed in a single visit, eliminating the need for a temporary crown and a separate appointment for placement.

Same-day crowns can mean fewer appointments and less time spent waiting for your final restoration. Dr. Barry will determine whether a same-day crown is appropriate for your needs.

DEXIS Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays help us examine areas of your teeth and supporting structures that cannot be seen during a visual examination alone. The images are available immediately and can be enlarged on our treatment room screens, making it easier to review areas of concern together.

X-rays are taken as needed to help evaluate your oral health and guide treatment recommendations.

DEXIS iO Digital Scanner

Digital scanning offers an alternative to traditional dental impressions, which use trays filled with impression material. Our DEXIS iO scanner captures digital images of your teeth to create a detailed 3D model for many dental procedures.

For patients who find traditional impressions uncomfortable, digital scanning can be a welcome alternative. While digital scans work well for many treatments, traditional impressions may still be necessary in certain situations.

DEXIS CariVu Cavity Detection

The DEXIS CariVu uses near-infrared light to help identify areas of a tooth that may indicate decay. The resulting images can reveal changes in the way light passes through the tooth, helping Dr. Barry evaluate areas that may need closer attention.

CariVu is used alongside a dental examination and other diagnostic tools to help assess your teeth and determine whether further evaluation or treatment may be needed.

OP 3D Cone Beam Imaging & Panoramic X-Rays

Some dental treatments require a more detailed view of the teeth, jawbone, and surrounding structures. Our OP 3D system provides cone beam imaging, which creates a three-dimensional view of the mouth when additional detail is needed for diagnosis or treatment planning, particularly for procedures such as dental implants.

The system also provides panoramic (PANO) X-rays, which capture a broad, two-dimensional view of the teeth and jaws in a single image.

The type of imaging used depends on your individual needs and the information Dr. Barry needs to plan your care.

If you have questions about the technology we use or how it may be helpful for your treatment, please feel free to ask during your visit. We're happy to walk you through it.
